Kiko have opened up stores in the UK fairly recently and the products that excited me most were the eyeshadows, as they sell such a huge range.
I bought two of Kiko’s Water Eyeshadows in the shades 202 and 226, so here’s my thoughts on them.
Shade 202-Golden Mauve
Starting with the packaging, I love Kiko’s very simple and minimalist style. The cases housing the eyeshadows are compact and contain a small mirror, making them ideal to carry in your bag.
I also like that the eyeshadow itself has an unusual design, as it has a fingerprint style indent, rather than being flat. Like with all of Kiko’s products, this eyeshadow is numbered rather than named on the packaging and in store, however, online Kiko do give the names of each product on their site.
Moving on to the colour, this is named Golden Mauve and the name is partly true. In different lighting this eyeshadow can look completely different colours, but it is a purple shade with accents of gold glitter. It also has undertones of bronze and pink, so it is a really unusual and beautiful shade.
Once applied, this is buttery, smooth and long lasting. I use a primer with all my eyeshadows and this one had no fall out and good pigmentation.
In photos this does show up darker and flatter than it appears in real life, as this eyeshadow is just gorgeous.
Below are photos of me wearing this eyeshadow.
Shade 226-Moonstone
The second eyeshadow is shade 226, which is Moonstone. Just as before this eyeshadow applies like a dream and is long wearing.
When swatched this eyeshadow appears as a silvery-white with shimmer.
Once applied to my eyes, this looks more of a white, with a hint of pale blue to it and it’s hard to detect any shimmer. In photos this shows up as a flat white colour, but it is more flattering in real life. I prefer the Golden Mauve shade to this one, but I think both these eyeshadows are great.
Below are photos of me wearing this eyeshadow.
Below is some photos of me wearing both eyeshadows together.
The Water Eyeshadows can be used wet or dry, but I’ve only tested them dry, as I find water can damage makeup items.
I really love these eyeshadows and I’ll definitely be popping into Kiko to buy some more.
Let me know what Kiko items you love.
The moonstone looks gorgeous on your skin.

I can see why! Are they very expensive? x

I actually got these as an Easter present, but they’re £8.90 each. A lot of Kiko’s products are cheaper than that, like a lipstick is £5.50, etc. So it’s an affordable brand and they sell so many eyeshadows☺ xx

I wonder if they do a blue. I’ve been trying to find the perfect shade but everything either seems too dark or too matte. I’ll have a look on their website 🙂

They do so many pretty blues. I have two of Kiko’s Sphere eyeshadows, which I haven’t tried yet, but the range of colours is great. Let me know if you find a nice shade of blue☺ x

Oh no, do they definitely not ship to NZ? Kiko might open stores where you are in the future. They only opened here in the past couple of months xx

Golden Mauve is GORGEOUS! These Water Eye shadows remind me a lot of the MAC Extra Dimension Eye Shadows:

The MAC ones are one of my all time favourite formulas!
A question – I hope not to offend. But why do you do your eye brows so bluntly at the center and so dark and thick? Have you been wearing this brow style for a while?

The Mac ones look lovely. I really need to try more of their makeup out☺ My eyebrows are a bit sparse but dark naturally, so only dark shades work on my brows. Light browns look too light in the places I don’t have much hair. The part of my eyebrows right near my nose have almost no hair, so I find it hard to get a good shape. Really I’d like them Microbladed so they look more natural x

I hear you about having sparse brows! It’s like you’re starting from scratch every morning. 😛 I’ve even considered getting them tattooed – there’s a technique called Brow Embroidery. It’s using tattoo ink but it doesn’t go down as deep into the skin layers. The results look really natural! 🙂

Oh yeah I hate drawing in brows. I’ve never heard of brow embroidery is it similar to microblading? X

We dont have that brand here but would be interested to try. I know Inglot was first from UK and then found a few stores that popped up here and I love that brand. Affordable and great quality eye shadows.

Kiko’s fairly new to the UK, they only opened stores here a few months ago. They have a good range of affordable makeup though☺ I think Inglot’s Irish as I never see it near where I live in London. I hear a lot of good things about it though, so I should see if I can get some bits online☺ x
