The day after Boxing Day, me and my partner headed out to a small village called Burley. As it was my partner’s last day before going back to work, we wanted a fairly relaxed day.
Burley is a traditional village with quirky stores, handmade goods and second hand shops. It was also my nan’s favourite place in the world, before she passed away last year.
Even though quite a few shops were closed as it was the Christmas holidays, we still went into our favourite fudge shop and stopped off for some delicious scones.
Me and my partner first visited Burley twice over the Easter holidays last year, where we did a fun horse and carriage ride through the forest.
I also brought my nan back some postcards and souvenirs from the shops. I was thankful I got to visit her favourite place and get to talk to her about it, before she passed away last May.
After Burley, we took a different route back to the lodge and stopped to look at the wild horses and ponies.

And then it was time for my partner to leave. We had an amazing time together in one of our favourite places, so I was sad he had to go, but I made sure to make the most of my last two days.
The next morning, me, my mum and my brother went on an alpaca walk. We got to pet and walk the same alpacas last year when they was babies, but as they’re now older, we was able to take them on an hour long walk through the forest.
I had the rather messy haired Pickle, who was super sweet and well behaved.
We walked up to Godshill viewing point and with the sun shining, it was beautiful.
Before then walking Pickle back to his field.
We spent the rest of the day at leisure and in the lodge, before heading to the on-site restaurant for dinner.
I had a delicious falafel and halloumi burger with chips and salad.
Then shared a yummy ice cream sundae with my brother.
After dinner we walked back into the main square, which was still beautifully decorated with Christmas lights.
Before heading back to the lodge, ready for our final day.
On our last day in the New Forest, I spent most of the afternoon at the on-site spa.
I had a facial, massage and pedicure. All of which was fantastic and super relaxing.
I loved the short walk back to the lodge, where I didn’t see a single person. The sun was shining and the only noise I could hear was birds singing.
Once I got back, I ran a bath and used one of Lush’s Christmas bath bombs, Shoot For The Stars.
After a relaxing bath, I spent the rest of the night in the lodge, resting, packing and already planning my return visit.
