Last weekend was another long one, where we got three days off as it was the late May bank holiday. So here’s a look at what we got up to.
Saturday 26th May
As the weather was amazing, we decided to book a last minute trip to Brighton.
Car selfies on the way.
A couple of hours later we arrived and checked into our hotel.
We stayed at the Jurys Inn Brighton and I was impressed by the hotel. Our room was spacious, there was a lovely bar downstairs and Jurys Inn is the first hotel group to be awarded Gold by Green Tourism for investing in sustainable technologies.
A look at my outfit.
Another reason I loved our hotel.
After checking out our hotel, we explored the streets of Brighton.
Before stopping off at one of my favourite food places in Brighton, We Love Falafel.
After eating the world’s best falafel wrap, we browsed the shops.
The cutest Toy Story bag and shoe collection.
And a bag I spotted and fell in love with (the one in the middle).
We spent quite some time wandering around, before heading to Brighton Beach.
We spent a couple of hours just soaking up the sun and relaxing on the beach.
After we walked to Brighton Pier.
We played games and went inside the arcades.
I won a Minion on the pier!
After the pier, we walked back into the centre for food.
We tried chips from a Belgian style place and they was really good.
We then ate at another of our favourite places in Brighton, Purezza.
Purezza does vegan pizza and it was even better than I remembered!
Feeling full up and feet aching, we headed back to our hotel, ready for the next day.
Sunday 27th May
We started our day with breakfast in the hotel.
I was delighted as there was a super fun pancake maker!
There was also a selection of vegetarian sausages, soya milk etc for veggies/vegans, so I’d definitely recommend paying for the breakfast at Jurys Inn.
As we had a few free hours before my spa day, we rested in our hotel room, then walked around Brighton.
We took in some street art.
Went in some shops to buy a few bits for our upcoming holiday.
Then headed back to our hotel. I had a couple of cocktails and my partner had a mocktail.
Then it was spa time! I went to the Phoenix Treatments & Beauty Eco Spa for the first time.
I forgot to take any photos inside, but it’s a small spa run by five Co-Founders. All products used are vegan, cruelty free and ethically sourced.
I had a facial, hot stone massage, gel pedicure and brow tint, all of which was amazing. I had the beauty therapist Alice and not only was she lovely, but she took real time and care with all of my treatments. I’ll definitely be returning soon.
My gel pedicure.
After a day of pampering, we went for some vegan ice cream from Gelato Gusto.
We tried the Turkish Delight and Salted Caramel flavours and I loved both.
As it was heading towards the evening, we walked back to the car, where my partner surprised me with a gift.
Whilst I was in the spa, he bought the bag and purse I saw and loved!
After a wonderful day, it was time to drive home.
Monday 28th May
I only took one photo all day, but we drove to my partner’s brothers and had a barbeque with him, his wife, their kids and my partner’s parents.
As they know I’m vegetarian, they cooked a tonne of food for me.
We all sat outside eating and talking until the evening, before we drove home.
Let me know how you spent your bank holiday weekend.
