August was a busy month, but I still tried hard to keep to my resolutions. So here’s a look at how I got on.
1-Eat healthy and exercise
In August I continued using a personal trainer twice a week and also fit in an extra gym session most weeks.
Food-wise, I chose the healthy options when eating out, but I mostly cooked and ate at home. Whilst we was on holiday in Greece, I relaxed my diet and allowed myself some treats.
2-Read more
Definitely achieved! August has been my best reading month of the year so far. I read:
-Zakynthos & Kefalonia Pocket Guide by Berlitz
-The Party by Lisa Hall
-His Other Lover by Lucy Dawson
I enjoyed all three books. ‘The Party’ is unique in that it covers the topic of rape, but does so in a thriller style fashion. I do wish some of the characters were more developed and the ending was different, but it was still a good book.
‘His Other Lover’ is a book I already had in my collection and enjoyed reading whilst I was at university.
Re-reading it I still liked this book, but maybe some parts were more far-fetched than I remembered.
3-Do 2 new things per month
Tick!
At the Vegan Nights event I tried new foods, such as corn dogs from Ninety Degree Melt.
I had a beautiful birthday cake from Flavourtown in London.
Me and my partner went on holiday to Kefalonia in Greece, where we did lots of new things such as visit Melissani Lake & Cave.
We did a couples yoga class at Yoga Place, London.
We also went to a couples Boxercise class.
And finally, we headed to St Albans for their Vegan Fair over the bank holiday weekend.
4-Visit three NEW countries and three NEW cities (Any towns and villages or any extra countries and cities are a bonus)
For my birthday we went to the Greek island of Kefalonia. It was our first time in Greece and we visited the villages of Agia Efimia and Fiskardo.
5-Try to use up what I have before buying more
I bought a few holiday essentials for Greece, but mostly I bought everyday makeup items I’d ran out of (Concealer, primer, etc).
Bonus round
In August I gave myself some ‘me time’. I made time to read, watch TV shows I wanted to and go to the gym for an extra workout. I also had time to relax whilst on holiday.
Let me know how you’re getting on with your New Year’s Resolutions.
I love your resolutions! It is so motivating and it is super fun to read your activities!

I just love these updates! August sounds like a really succesful month. You have been doing amazing with your healthy eating and exercise. Well done hun! Two PT sessions a week is insane. I don’t think i could do two a month 😂
The Party sounds like an interesting read, I do enjoy a thriller and also the fact that you say you weren’t keen on the ending intrigues me to read it!
I didn’t know that was your first time in Greece! How exciting! X

Aaw thanks huni. I achieved all my goals in August😊 😂 You could! It’s tough when you first do PT as it’d take days for my body to recover and not be sore. Now I recover quick. It’s an interesting book and I read it quick enough, so I would recommend it. Yes it was😊 x
