October 15th was mine and my partner’s sixth anniversary and we stayed in London to celebrate. So here’s a look at our weekend.
The Night Before
The day before our anniversary we packed our bags and drove to Mayfair in London.
My partner had booked us a junior suite at The Chesterfield Mayfair, which is a gorgeous, upmarket hotel in the city.
I was really touched by him booking this hotel and an afternoon tea there, as it has a special meaning to us. On our first anniversary I was very ill so we didn’t celebrate properly, but for our second anniversary we had a lovely afternoon tea at The Chesterfield and said we’d like to stay overnight one day. I loved that he remembered that and chose such a thoughtful place to take me.
Our gorgeous suite.
We checked out our wonderful room, before getting ready for The Original Sweetshop Afternoon Tea downstairs in our hotel.
The colourful sweetshop theme.
The delicious food. We had an array of veggie sandwiches, scones and candy flavoured cakes (such as the cherry bon bon cake pictured).
After a fun and tasty afternoon tea, we headed back to our room.
My partner had arranged for our room to be romantically decorated and we had rose petals, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. There was even a Lush bath bomb in the shape of a heart!
We wore fluffy night robes and used the jacuzzi bath; which was amazing.
Before ordering in some room service. We got a cocktail each and a falafel burger with chips.
Then in the evening we explored the hotel some more.
Before heading to bed, ready for the next day.
Our Sixth Anniversary
We started our sixth anniversary by exchanging presents (post coming soon) and watching the Disney movie ‘Frozen’ together in bed.
And then it was time for breakfast.
I started with some delicious, warm pastries then had beans, toast and a hash brown. My partner got a full English breakfast, but I didn’t want to eat too much heavy food.
After breakfast we got ready and walked around stunning Mayfair.
We went shopping in Harrods and I had my hair styled in Harvey Nichols Blow Dry Bar.
Then we headed to Cantina Laredo (an upmarket Mexican) for dinner.
For starters we got the guacamole (made at your table) and tortilla chips.
Followed by a veggie fajita for my main and enchiladas for my partner.
For dessert we got some delicious churros with chocolate sauce and an apple tart with sizzling caramel sauce and ice cream.
The food was delicious and amazing as always.
After dinner we made our way to the theatre to watch Aladdin, which had been on our to-see list for ages.
The Genie was a brilliant character but the show was pretty average. The casting wasn’t great for Aladdin or Jasmine and I felt like they could have done a lot more with the show. I was still glad we saw the show though, as we had spoke about seeing it for a while.
After the show, we went back to The Chesterfield to collect our things and drove back home after a perfect weekend away.
