(Mid-February, me and my partner went away for six nights. So here’s a look at what we got up to).
It took us around two and a half hours to drive from London to the New Forest in the south of England.
We had a quick stop along the way and of course I had to grab a vegetable pasty.
We drove through the beautiful New Forest roads.
Then we was able to check-in to our lovely lodge.
I’ve posted in the past about my Easter and Christmas breaks with my family and partner in the New Forest. It’s a beautiful area that’s great for a relaxing holiday.
Our Zen lodge with hot tub.
Our bedroom and en suite bathroom.
The spare bedroom and bathroom at the opposite end of the lodge.
After unpacking, we watched some TV, read and relaxed.
It was pretty hard to drag ourselves away from the lodge, but we played prize bingo on-site.
Which I won! As there wasn’t many of us playing, I got a certificate and medal which made us chuckle.
After our win at bingo we’d worked up an appetite, so we ate at Aubrey’s Italian restaurant where we was staying.
I had the penne arrabbiata pasta and Mediterranean roasted vegetables, whilst my partner got a vegan cheese pizza with chips.
We both really enjoyed the food and Aubrey’s was really good at catering to our dietary requirements.
After dinner we watched a movie (Changeling) in our lodge and had a cosy night in together.
Day Two
Our first morning in the New Forest was a slow and lazy one.
We took our time eating vegan pain au chocolat pastries and watching morning TV, which was a rare treat for us.
Then as I got ready, my partner said he was popping to the shop.
He only returned with a beautiful bouquet in a vase and some tulips for the dinner table!
He bought me flowers early on in the week, so I’d have the whole week to enjoy them, which I thought was sweet.
Once I was ready and had admired my flowers, we drove to the quaint village of Beaulieu.
Horses and donkeys along the way.
Beaulieu village.
We popped into the Beaulieu Chocolate Studio, which sells chocolate they make on site.
Needless to say, me and my partner bought each other some goodies in the shop!
After the village, we drove to nearby Beaulieu National Motor Museum.
Beaulieu is one of our favourite days out in the New Forest, as it consists of a Palace House, lovely grounds, an Abbey, monorail train, a car museum and much more.
The Palace House.
The 800 year old Beaulieu Abbey, destroyed on the orders of King Henry VIII in 1538.
Resting place of members of the Montagu family in the Abbey grounds.
Beaulieu Parish Church.
Then we wandered the stunning grounds.
And found the love lock tree with our padlock on, which we placed there in December 2017.
After, we spent time in the Motor Museum at Beaulieu and had a lot of fun.
There was old cars, dressing up and other fun activities.
After a lovely day out, we headed back to the lodge to make dinner.
My vegan spaghetti bolognese.
Then we had a relaxing night in, catching up on some TV.
Beautiful! That lodge looks lovely 🙂 and a private hot tub is always a blessing!

We got a lodge for our wedding anniversary a few years ago (before we had our little one). It was heavenly! Reading this makes me want to go back, although it would be a different experience now with a two year old bouncing off the walls (^_^”) lol

Was the hot tub just for your room or other guests too? Yay for winning bingo, cute certificate! I’d love to get away somewhere like this, the weather is my favourite for feeling all warm and cosy xx

It was just for our lodge😊 Was so nice having our own hot tub. Hehe thank you! It’s one of my favourite places to go for a break, I always just feel so peaceful and relaxed there. The weather was perfect, sunny and not too cold, but cold enough to feel cosy in the lodge😊 x
