May was a busy busy month with everything in my life, but also really lovely as me and my partner went on two UK breaks. So here’s a look at how I did with my resolutions in May.
1-Eat Healthy and Exercise
Tick and tick! I wasn’t allowed to exercise for two weeks after having microblading, but I still went for walks, hiked and even went climbing in Devon. I really enjoyed being active and outdoors last month.
In regards to food I ate healthily most of the month, but I did allow myself some treats whilst we was away in Somerset and Devon.
In May I read:
-Lonely Planet Thailand’s Islands & Beaches
Would I recommend this book? Yes.
-Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
I wont speak too much about this book as I did mention it in my favourites, but I loved it!
It took me some time to get into it and to fully understand the main character, but I fell totally in love with this book and didn’t want it to end. I do feel the ending was a bit abrupt and maybe certain things could have been expanded on, but it’s a great read.
Would I recommend this book? Yes!
3-Do 2 New Things Per Month
Achieved! In May I did these things for the first time:
-Tried the vegan sub from Subway.
-Stayed at ‘The Roost’ cabin in Somerset and fed the resident doves.
-Visited the historic Church of St. Andrew in Holcombe, Somerset
-Spent time in the seaside town of Burnham-on-Sea
-Went to the city of Bristol for the first time and ate vegan junk food at Oowee Diner
-Tried a vegan hot dog pizza from Papa John’s
-Stayed at Heath Close B&B in Devon
-Had my first barbeque on the beach
-Climbed up to Haytor Rocks in Dartmoor National Park
-Went to Becky Falls in Dartmoor National Park
-Visited the towns of Exmouth and Sidmouth along the Jurrasic Coast
-Went to the town of Lyme Regis in Dorset, a place famed for the amount of fossils found there
-And ate Mauritian food at Lakaz Maman in Southampton
4-Travel/Go For Days Out
As we went away twice in May, we visited some places we’d been before and some brand new places for us.
Places we visited in May but have been before:
New places we visited in May:
-Budleigh Salterton, Devon
-Lyme Regis, Devon
All of our days trips and outings was when we was away.
5- Save Money
Not achieved! I spent quite a bit of money on essentials for travel, such as a rucksack, packing cubes and some clothes but I also spent money as we went away twice and ate out a lot. Do I regret it? Nope.
6-Use My Phone Less
It’s just not been happening. I’ve had so much to plan for my upcoming trip to Asia that I’ve been making calls, looking things up and also in between all of that, procrastinating on social media.
So that’s how I got on in May. How did I do? Let me know how your New Year’s Resolutions are going.
