As summer is drawing to a close, I thought I’d share some of my favourite experiences and products that I’ve discovered. I have a lot of favourites, so I’ve really condensed this list down and I hope you enjoy it!
1- Breaks Away to Brighton, Devon & Greece
In August we went on three breaks. The first was an overnight stay in the Brighton/Worthing area, the second was the most fantastic holiday to Santorini in Greece and at the end of August, we headed to Devon for four nights.
After months of not being able to travel I felt incredibly grateful to be outdoors and to experience some truly wonderful places. Posts on all trips will be up soon.
2- Days Out
One thing I made the most of throughout summer was days out. We visited a lot of outdoor attractions such as Kew Gardens and many historical ones such as Hever Castle and Hampton Court.
This month we’ve spent weekends enjoying the glorious weather in Camber Sands, Hastings and Rye. The UK has so many gorgeous places to visit and I feel like I’ve seen so much culture and history over the summer.
3- Having My Hair Done
When hairdressers reopened in July, you best believe I was there the day they opened! In everyday life we all take things for granted and I realllyyyy missed having my hair done. It’s a minor thing but one that made me feel great and like myself again, as my roots were down to my ears!
4- Meeting Up With Jenny
One of the best things about summer was being able to socialise and see my friends and family again. After months of not seeing them it felt great to talk to them and see them in person.
I finally got to have a girly day with Jenny and we had such a fun day in London drinking cocktails, eating burgers and sightseeing.
5- Honest Beauty Sheer Lip Crayons
Over the summer I discovered Jessica Alba’s brand Honest Beauty and I’ve been a little bit obsessed with them ever since! With fair price points and good ingredients it’s my new favourite brand but the lip crayons in particular are fab.
I have three shades which are swatched below- Petal, Blossom and Chesnut.
It’s such an easy to use, comfortable, glossy formula and the colours are super flattering.
6- Fenty Beauty Lip Products
I love love love Fenty Beauty’s latest releases.
I got two of the Slip Shine Sheer Lipsticks for my birthday but in particular the shade Retro Rose is a rosy pink that works great for every day wear. It swatches relatively purple but it’s a beautiful rose colour.
I also got a Pro Kiss’r Tinted Lip in the shade Latte Lips, which is a soft brown pink. The formula is so glossy and comfortable to wear, I prefer this to the Fenty Gloss Bomb Lip Glosses.
7- Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Palette
One of my current favourite looks is a soft, pink one using this eyeshadow palette and the Fenty Retro Rose Lipstick mentioned above.
Charlotte Tilbury creates beautiful makeup and this palette is no exception, you can create several dreamy, romantic looks using this quad.
8- L’Occitane Fruity Lipstick in Provence Sunset
L’Occitane ventured more into cosmetics a while ago and released these very glossy, Fruity Lipsticks.
I have two shades but throughout summer I’ve been loving the pink hues of Provence Sunset. A warm, juicy pink that adds warmth but isn’t too bright, it’s enriched with castor oil, vitamin e and more so it’s soothing and hydrating on your lips.
9- High Definition 002 Foxy Eyeshadow Palette
One of my recent go-to looks has been a nude smokey eye. It’s an easy look to create using just three shades and it’s more wearable than a traditional smokey eye.
I actually received this palette in a beauty advent calendar a few years back but it took me a while to realise how great a nude palette is. I use the middle three shades to create my look and the shadows themselves are creamy and easy to blend.
Sadly I looked online and the palette looks different as it’s now marketed as an eyebrow and eyeshadow palette, but as long as you have a soft champagne gold, taupe nude and dark brown you can create this look.
So that’s my favourites. Let me know what you loved this summer.
