Christmas feels so long ago already and yet like it just happened! With the UK rules changing, we couldn’t go away as planned and instead cooked our first ever Christmas dinner at home. So here’s a look at our day (presents mentioned at the end of the post).
Christmas Eve
Since I was a child, I’ve celebrated as much (possibly more) on Christmas Eve. As my partner works Christmas Eve, I spent my day pampering myself, doing a special makeup look and just having me-time.
We did our usual Christmas Eve buffet.
Drank a dairy-free Baileys type of drink.
Watched ‘The Snowman’ of course.
And opened a few gifts.
Christmas Day
Christmas started with a light breakfast and presents!
Then we proceeded to cook our first ever Christmas dinner which thankfully wasn’t as stressful as I thought it’d be.
We had a vegan wellington, roast potatoes, stuffing, roasted vegetables, vegan pigs in blankets and gravy. Yum!
For dessert we had a chocolate mousse in the shape of a star with a salted caramel sauce to pour on top.
Stuffed, we watched TV for a while before heading to my mums.
As she’s a single parent household she’s allowed a ‘bubble’, so we had a buffet in the evening (yes I know, more food!) and played Monopoly and Scrabble until the early hours.
New Year’s Eve
As my partner was working during the day again, I had a pamper and makeup session.
Then he got home and the party (for two) started!
It was a pretty unusual New Year as whilst we don’t really go to clubs or bars to celebrate, we normally go out and do something. This year however there was no fireworks by Big Ben, just lots of fireworks being released from peoples’ gardens.
We had a buffet, made delicious fruity cocktails and played quiz games.
So whilst it was weird, different and I wasn’t sure 2021 would prove to be much better, we laughed, told covid to get lost and wished each other a Happy New Year.

Your makeup and pamper sessions sound like so much fun and you look beautiful! Your Xmas jumper is super cute, I wish it got cold here in December as I love cosy jumpers! All the makeup gifts are beautiful, love the look of the lip chic, Colourpop gloss and of course the Pat MCGrath palette. I have Making Mauves too but I haven’t used it yet with the eyeshadow challenge I did last year 😂 glad you got to spend Christmas and New Year with your loved ones xx

I find the Pat McGrath palette hard to come up with looks, I need to use it a bit more so I know how each shade performs. I love the Colourpop 9 pan palettes, they’re so easy to work with x

Your Christmas looks so lovely (or as much as it could be under the circumstances) and that food is making me hungry! I especially love that reindeer bath set, so cute! Here’s to hoping Christmas 2021 will be a normal one!

I am so happy you were able to make the most of the holidays! It was definitely different this year, but I also feel like it felt more meaningful also. Sending you so much love! ❤
